Change your Password in Outlook Web Access

This document describes how to change your password in Outlook Web Access

To change your password using Outlook Web Access, follow these steps:

1. Log in to OWA from home or campus.

2. Click on the gear in the upper right corner and choose Options.

3. Go to General -> My account and click the Change your password link in the lower right corner.

4. Using the appropriate password rules (see below) and create a new password; click on Save.

Reminder: Passwords must:

  • be a minimum of ten (10) characters in length.
  • be memorized; if a password is written down it must be stored securely.
  • contain at least one (1) character from three (3) of the following categories:
    • Uppercase letter (A-Z)
    • Lowercase letter (a-z)
    • Digit (0-9)
    • Printable special characters (~`!@#$%^&*()+=_-{}[]\|:;”’?<>,.)
  • be private and not shared with anyone.
  • not contain your proper name or username.
  • be changed at least every six months.
  • not be reused for at least 10 password changes.
