1.) Find out if you are running 32-bit or 64-bit Windows. To do this navigate to the control panel, and select "System and Security".
2.) Once under Control Panel and "System and Security" click on "System"
3.) "System" displays all the specifications of the computer. Here is where the version of the operating system is displayed. In this example it is 64-bit.
4.) Download the correct version of the driver from our site. You will be warned if you install the incorrect version.
When prompted to run or save - choose Run and wait for the download to complete and the program to start installing.
5.) Once the installer is running a status window should display. Select install to begin. Click finish when the installer is done.
6.) Now when you go to print in any application with the U-Print-IT printers (listed above) selected the computer should prompt you for your Campus username and password. This works just as if the printing was being done on a campus lab computer. All that needs to be done is enter your Campus username and Campus password. After that selecting print will send your job to the correct Printer and will hold for the for release for up to 2 hours
With the drivers and software now installed any document can be printed to student printers on campus.
1.) If you have used the U-print-IT software previously please follow these first steps to remove the old printers before installing the new version. If you are a new user skip to step four.
2.) Navigate to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
3.) Delete the old printers from the old software by selecting them and clicking the minus sign in the lower left corner.
5.) Open the installer file. In the disk image you will see the "Popup.pkg". Open this file to install the software.
4.) Download the the Pharos software from our site. (See above chart).
5.) With the installer open select "Continue".
6.) After selecting a destination for the software install it with the "install" button.
7.) The installer will now ask for your password. This is the password to your Macintosh only. After entering it click the "Install Software" button.
8.) After the installer is complete it will notify you if the install was successful, and ask to close. Select the "close" option.
9.) Eject the disk image from the installer as it is no longer needed. This can be done in the finder window, or by dragging the icon of it from the desktop to the trash.
10.) Run Software Update (To run updates navigate to the Apple logo in the menu bar > Software Update...) and install the Xerox and HP print software. These will be required to use the on campus printers. If the Xerox software does not show up in Software Update the driver for the Xerox printer can be found here. Note: On Macs running 10.6 or 10.7 the update window will look different, however it will still complete the same task if you tell it to run all updates.
11.) After completion of the updates restart your Mac. The printers will now be installed on your Mac. When printing the software will ask for your campus user name and password. This works just as if the printing was being done on a campus lab computer. After that selecting print will send your job to the print stations.
