Drive Mappings not saving on Mac OS 10.8

This document discusses how to fix the problem of drive mappings not saving on Mac OS 10.8

This problem is actually related to us moving away from Admit Mac on campus.

The only way to get these mapping to save on the desktop is to connect to the share by clicking on GO on the top navigation bar on the desktop

Then click Connect to Server

Click on the share that you would like to connect to example: smb://fpsa/compserv$, then click on Connect

Once the share shows up on your desktop click on the share and drag it to your Dock.  Note - you must drag it to the right side of the Dock by the Trash.

Right click on the folder once it is located in your Dock and click on list and now your folder will automatically mount when you log back in.
