UW Digital ID (One-Time Password) - Testing an OTP Token

This document will summarize the steps you will take to test an OTP device.

Customer Instructions

  1. Navigate to https://uwdigitalid.wisconsin.edu and log in with your institutional credentials.

    If you experience problems logging into this page please refer to the following KB document: 13942

  2. Click your OTP token request on the My Digital IDs page.

  3. Click Test Device in Available Actions.

  4. Generate a code on your OTP token. Please refer to this KB for instructions on getting a code from your particular token: 33235

  5. Enter the six-digit OTP passcode and click Test Device.

  6. If you see Device authenticated successfully, then your OTP token is tested and valid.

LRA Instructions

  1. Navigate to https://uwdigitalid.wisconsin.edu and log in with your institutional credentials.

    If you experience problems logging into this page please refer to the following KB document: 13942

  2. Search for the customer's request by entering the customer's name into the Name field and selecting the "Completed" status.

  3. Select the customer's OTP request.

  4. Credential the customer as described in this KB document: 68615

  5. Click Test Device in the Available Actions panel.

  6. Generate a code on the OTP token. Please refer to this KB for instructions on getting a code from the particular token: 33235

  7. Enter the six-digit OTP passcode and click Test Device.

  8. If you see Device authenticated successfully, then the OTP token is tested and valid.
