Viewing Student Submissions to a Dropbox in D2L

This document describes how to view student submissions to a dropbox in D2L.

Viewing submitted files

  1. Click on Dropbox in the navigation bar.
  2. Click on the name of the dropbox folder that you want to view submissions for.
  3. Click on either the Users tab or the Files tab to view and search submissions by user or file name.

Retrieving (downloading) submitted files:

To download a file

  1. Click on the name of the dropbox folder that you want to view submissions for.
  2. Click on the name of the file that you want to view.
  3. Use your browsers save dialog box to save or open the file.

To download multiple files at once

  1. Click on the name of the dropbox folder that you want to view submissions for.
  2. Click on either the Users tab or the Files tab
  3. Select the users or files that you want to download.
  4. Click the  Download submissions icon at the bottom of the list (green circle with arrow).
  5. Click on the name of the zip file that is created.
  6. Use your browsers save dialog box to save the zip file to your computer.

Emailing users about assignments:

  1. Click on the name of the dropbox folder that you want to view submissions for.
  2. Click on the name(s) of the students that you want to email or click the box in the action bar at the top or bottom list to select all students.
  3. Click on  Email on the action bar at the top or bottom of the list.
  4. Type in the Subject of the email message.
  5. Type in the Message of the email message.
  6. Add an attachment if you want to.
  7. Click on the Send button.

 

To email students who have not submitted an assignment to the dropbox folder:


1. Click on the name of the dropbox folder that you want to view submissions for.
2. Click on Email Users Without Submissions near the top of the window.

3. Type in the Subject of the email message.
4. Type in the Message of the email message.
5. Click on the Send button.

Flagging Assignments and Marking assignments as read/unread:


1. Click on the name of the dropbox folder that you want to view submissions for.
2. Click the Read or  Unread icon next to the name of the file that you want to mark OR select the files that you want to mark as read or unread and then click the  Display Unread (mark files as unread) or  Display Read (mark files as read) icons at the top or bottom of the list.

3. You can also flag documents by clicking on the flag icon.
