FAQ - Licensing for Office 2016 - Faculty and Staff
Important information regarding the licensing of Microsoft Office 2013 on personal faculty and staff devices.
- Faculty and staff currently employed at UW Green Bay can install Microsoft Office 2016 software for free on their personal computers through the Office 365 ProPlus for Faculty subscription. "Office 365 ProPlus for Faculty" equates to Microsoft Office 2016 for Windows and\or Microsoft Office 2011 for Macintosh.
- The software has the same features and functions as other versions of Office and can be used offline; however, you must connect to the Internet once every 30 days to verify you are still eligible for the program.
- Faculty and Staff can install the software on up to five computers, including Windows and Mac. You can also access Office mobile applications on iPhones and Android phones.
Office 2013 (Windows) includes: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Lync, and InfoPath.
Office 2011 (Macintosh) includes: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Lync.

When can new, faculty and staff have proper access to install Office 2016?
Two days after a new employee's account is created, their accounts should have the proper access to download the Office software.
How long can I keep my license for Office 2016?
Office 365 licensing is retained as long as the uwgb account is active. When you are no longer employed by the University, you should uninstall the software from your devices.
How many devices can I install the software on?
Each subscription license allows you to install Microsoft Office on
up to five computers. You can also run Office Mobile for Android
or iPhone on up to five mobile devices.
Is this a full version of Office, available for offline use?
Yes. The software has the same features and functions as other versions of Office and can be used offline.
