Distance Education - Information and Support

This document details what Media Services provides in support for compressed video and satellite conferences using facilities in the Instructional Services building and Mary Ann Cofrin Hall, including audio-graphics technologies. This also details the costs associated with the use of these facilities.

Video & Web Conferencing Rates & Support

UW-Green Bay adheres to the general UW System guidelines for institutional and public use of our videoconferencing facilities.

  • UW Institutions: $15/hour
  • State of Wisconsin, K-12, public or non-profit agencies: $30/hour
  • Outside private agencies and groups: $150/hour

Billing Notes

  • Bridge charges of $15/hour per site, for multi-point sessions originated by UWC.
  • Pre/Post room usage charge of $35 will be applied for outside agencies.
  • Invoicing will be on scheduled time rather than actual use.

Cancellations

  • Notification of cancelled events must occur 48 hours prior to the event.
  • Outside agency cancellations within 48 hrs. prior to the event will result in a $75 charge. 

Satellite Conference Site Support

  • UW Institutions: $15/hour
  • State of Wisconsin, K-12, public or non-profit agencies: $30/hour
  • Outside private agencies and groups: $150/hour

Distance Education Rooms


Mary Ann Cofrin Hall, Room 137

MAC 137 is a 40-seat distance education classroom with both theater style and round table seating. A Polycom VSX 8000 is interconnected with an Extron control system in order to provide an intuitive faculty workstation. A one microphone to every two students configuration is provided for spontaneous interaction with the far end site(s). This room is capable of IP connection.

Instructional Services 1034

Instructional Services room 1034 is a 40-seat classroom converted into a distance education classroom. A Polycom VSX 7000e serves as both the control system and the IP codec. Ceiling mount microphones evenly pick up the audio throughout the room.
