Office 365 - Outlook on the Web User Guide
This guide offers tips and tricks for using Outlook on the web.
To categorize emails, select Categorize at the top.
Under Categorize, you will see various colors. To create a new category, select New category; to see existing categories or create a new category, select Manage categories.
To create a category, select Create category. To favorite or delete, see the buttons below.
There are many settings found under the Settings (gear) icon, but the ones to note are: dark mode, focused inbox, and desktop notifications. Their toggle bars can be found under Settings; see the screenshot below for more details.
The search function of Outlook is very powerful, so use it when the setting you're looking for is not immediately apparent. This can be used for all settings.
Your view in Outlook on the web can be customized to fit that with which you're most familiar. To do so, scroll down to the settings shown in the screenshot below.
To send a message, select New message at the top. The options shown below are present once your message is open.
Note the presence of the rich text editor; use it to customize your messages.
Attachments can be added at the top menu or the bottom. Attachments are suggested based on recent usage. Emojis can also be added using the bottom menu.
To keep your inbox organized, use the Sweep feature. Sweep will automatically place emails from specified senders in folders.
To Sweep, select from within your inbox the sender for which you would like future correspondence sent to a different folder. Select the option that best suits your needs and then select OK.
To add an event to your calendar, select the Calendar icon from the top menu. Scroll down to select New event.
You can also see your calendar by selecting the icon found on the left side.
To sign out, select your initials from the top right. Select Sign out.
This menu also allows you to open another mailbox, something which has proven useful for those with multiple UWGB accounts. You can also find your Office profile, which allows you to customize your Office settings and more.
To open another Office 365 application, select the grid on the top left. Select which app you would like to open or consult the list of recent documents for a quicker search.
