Microsoft SSPR - Password Reset Methods

This article outlines the three ways one can change their password.

Password Requirements

Your password must:

  • Be a minimum of 14 characters, not to exceed 32 characters
  • Be a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters.
  • Contain at least one number
  • Be changed at least every 180 days.
  • Not contain any character more than twice consecutively.
  • Not contain the user's first or last name
  • Not include any personal information (e.g. birthday or SSN).
  • Not be any of your last 24 passwords for UWGB.

Forgotten Current Password

1. Use the link above to go to the SSPR tool:

        1. Enter your UWGB email address in the User ID field.

        2. Complete the captcha.

        3. Select "Next."

2.  Select "I forgot my password" at the screen below. Choosing the other option will only unlock your account; it will not change your password.

3.  At the screen below, you will see that an alternate email address has already been entered for your account.  Use the email address provided to receive your verification code.

***NOTE: If you no longer have access to the email account provided, call the Service Desk at (920) 465-2309.***

4. Once you receive your verification code:

        1. Enter it into the field provided.

        2. Select "Next" when the button appears blue.

5. You will be entering your new password twice. See the password requirements for more on your new password. If you get a message saying the password does not meet the length or complexity requirements, be sure to review the password requirements and try again.

Know Current Password

1. Use the link above to go to the SSPR tool. Log in using your UWGB email address and current password.

2.  Enter your old password.  Then, enter your new password twice. See the password requirements for more on your new password. If you get a message saying the password does not meet the length or complexity requirements, be sure to review the password requirements and try again.

With Help from Service Desk

1. While on the phone with a Service Desk technician, go to the recommended SSO page. This will likely be your email. Type in your full UWGB email address and provide the password given to you by the technician.

2. You will see the following screen. The old password is the password given to you by the Service Desk technician. The new password will be of your choosing. See the password requirements for more on your new password. If you get a message saying the password does not meet the length or complexity requirements, be sure to review the password requirements and try again.

3. You will be brought to another SSO page. Your email should be pre-filled, so you need only to supply your new password.

4. Once you're signed in, you should be all set to use your new password with your UWGB resources.
