Kaltura (referred to as "My Media" in Canvas) is the video portal for instructors, students, and staff across the University of Wisconsin System. Instructors, students, and staff can use it to easily upload, store, stream, and share (or restrict) videos.
Once you have uploaded videos in My Media or recorded them with Kaltura Capture, you can embed them in Canvas pages, assignments, discussions, quizzes, and announcements with the New Rich Content Editor.
1. Go to an editable Canvas page, discussion, etc. and click the Edit button with the pencil icon (or Reply for discussion posts) to open the New Rich Content Editor.
2. In the New Rich Content Editor, click the Kaltura/My Media button in the toolbar.
3. A window with your My Media library will open. Find the video you want to insert and click the </> Embed button to insert the video with default settings or click the gear-shaped "Embed Settings" icon to use advanced video embed options.
4. Your video should appear in the text box of the New Rich Content Editor. Click Save (or Post Reply for discussion posts) to save your work.
