Kaltura (Canvas) - Downloading a Video from Your My Media Library

Instructors, students, and staff can create and upload videos to the Kaltura My Media service, which can be accessed within Canvas. Users may wish to download a local copy of their own recording for offline viewing or archival purposes. This guide documents the procedure for downloading a video from your My Media library in Canvas.

To download a local copy of a recording that is saved in your Kaltura My Media library, perform the following steps:

  1. Log in to Canvas from https://www.uwgb.edu/canvas.

  2. Select Account > My Media in the Canvas Global Navigation Menu to open your My Media library.

  3. Select the title of the video you wish to download to open that video's media page.

  4. Select the Play button at the center of the video player to begin playing the video and reveal additional controls.

  5. In the top-right corner of the video player, select the download icon. The video will be downloaded to your computer's downloads folder.

  6. In the video player's Downloads menu, select the listed video file to begin downloading your video to your computer.
