Finding MAC Addresses for Personal Devices

***NOTE: This KB is only for staff of the UWGB Barber Shop. If you are a student attempting to connect your devices to the Wi-Fi, please follow the directions in this link: UWGB-IoT (Internet of Things)***

***NOTE:PS5s cannot connect to the internet through a wired connection.***

***NOTE: Roku and PS5 devices cannot connect to UWGB Guest network. If personal devices have connected to the UWGB Guest network previously, forget the UWGB Guest network on the device because the device will keep trying to bounce back to UWGB Guest even after the device is connected to UWGB IoT.***

***NOTE: Each new personal device that needs Wi-Fi in the Starz Barber and Beauty shop, that isn't a cellular phone, tablet, or laptop, will need to connect to the IoT using the steps below.***

Connecting Personal Devices to Wi-Fi in the UWGB Barber Shop 

1. Find the wireless MAC address for your device. If you need assistance finding a device's MAC address, please follow the directions in this link: Finding MAC Addresses for Personal Devices
2. Email the wireless MAC address to Grant Winslow at winslowg@uwgb.edu. Grant will register the device(s) through the IoT.
3. Once having received the unique IoT password from Grant, connect the device to the UWGB IoT network and enter the unique IoT password.
