Technology Classrooms
Faculty can incorporate computer technology into their instruction using one of the many technology classrooms on campus. These classrooms are equipped with computers, LCD projectors, VCRs, slide projectors, document cameras, and traditional overheads. Some have additional equipment as well. All of the technology classrooms have new HP PCs running Windows except for SA 350 and SA 411, which have dual boot iMacs running both Windows and OS X.
Windows PCs in the technology classrooms are set up with the same configuration that is used in the student general access labs, so all special instructional software used by faculty in our labs is available on these machines. In addition, all faculty accounts have local administrative rights on these machines so that instructors may install software.
***NOTE: Student accounts do not have installation rights.***
Keep in mind that special software must be reinstalled prior to fall semester since computers in the tech classrooms are replaced every summer with the newest models.
Media Services maintains a list that includes all technology classrooms and computer labs. Navigate to the following KB for more information: Rooms and Tech Equipment.
