Commonly Asked Questions
When can new (incoming Freshman) students have access to install Office 365?
Two days after a new student registered for classes, their accounts should have the access to download the Office software.
How long can I keep my license for Office 365?
Office 365 licensing is retained as long as the UWGB account is active. Therefore, Office 365 web applications are active for one year after a students last semester as a registered student. When a student is no longer registered for classes, the software should be uninstalled from the student's personal devices.
How many devices can I install the software on?
The subscription allows you to install Microsoft Office on up to five computers. You can also run Office Mobile for Android or iPhone on up to five mobile devices.
Is this a full version of Office available for offline use?
Yes. The software has the same features and functions as other versions of Office and can be used offline. Students will have online access to Office 365 Education Licensing. Using the Office 365 portal, https://login.microsoftonline.com/, students will log in to the UWGB portal and access both files and Office applications.
What applications can I use when logging into the Office 365 Portal?
Students, using either Windows or Macintosh, will have access to Office Web Apps. These apps allow students to create and share Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files.
Will I have online storage? (similar to Goggle Docs or Dropbox)
Students will have 1 TB of online storage with OneDrive for Business. This provides cloud storage and allows students to share documents with others even outside of UWGB. Students will lose access to this OneDrive storage when they no longer have a UWGB student account.
Can I work on documents with other students?
Yes. Online versions of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel allow students to work across multiple devices right from a browser. Multiple users can work on the same document together; just save and share the documents using OneDrive for Business.
