Outlook - Creating Space

This document details several methods on how to manage the size of your mailbox.

Empty deleted items

Delete attachments

Method 1: Empty Deleted Items


1. From the Home tab, right-click "Deleted Items."

2. Select "Empty folder."


Method 2: Empty Junk Mail


1. From the Home tab, right-click "Junk Email."

2. Select Empty folder.


Method 3: Delete Attachments


1. First, sort the emails by their attachments. Then, Select "Attachments."

2. Open an email with an attachment.

3. Select the drop down arrow on the attachment.

4. Select "Remove Attachment."

To save the document that is being deleted:

1. First, sort the emails by their attachments. Then, Select "Attachments."
2. Open an email with an attachment.
3. Select the drop down arrow on the attachment.

4. Select "Save As" and save to the computer.

5. Then, Select "Remove Attachment."


Method 4: Delete by Size


1. First, sort the emails by their size. Then, Select "Size."

2. Delete emails that are no longer of any use.
