Using Local Computer Resources through Remote Desktop Connection

This document outlines how to use your computer's local resources through Remote Desktop Connection.

The following resources are addressed:
Webcam


1. Use the Cortana search bar to locate Remote Desktop Connection.

2. Press Enter or click Remote Desktop Connection.

3.  In Remote Desktop Connection, type in your GB number (if it isn't already filled) and click Show Options.

4. Under Options, go to the Local Resources tab.
5. Under Local Resources, click More...

6. Under More..., expand the Video capture devices by clicking the + to the left.

7. Select the device(s) you wish to use and click OK.

8. To finish, click Connect.

2. Press Enter or click Remote Desktop Connection.

3.  In Remote Desktop Connection, type in your GB number (if it isn't already filled) and click Show Options.

4. Under Options, go to the Display tab.
5. Click the checkbox next to Use all my monitors for the remote session and then click Connect.

1. Use the Cortana search bar to locate Remote Desktop Connection.

2. Press Enter or click Remote Desktop Connection.

3.  In Remote Desktop Connection, type in your GB number (if it isn't already filled) and click Show Options.

4. Under Options, go to the Local Resources tab.
5. Under the Remote audio section, click on Settings.

6. Make sure the option labeled Play on this computer is selected and make sure Record from this computer is selected. Then click OK.

7. Go back to the General tab on the top of the menu.
8. Input your GB number into the computer field if it isn't already filled and click Connect.

9. You will be connected to your office computer. Test the audio to make sure it is working correctly.

3.  In Remote Desktop Connection, type in your GB number (if it isn't already filled) and click Show Options.

4. Under Options, go to the Local Resources tab.
5. Under Local Resources, click More...

6. Under More..., expand the Drives by clicking the + to the left.

7. Select the drives you wish to access and click OK.

8. To finish, click Connect.
