Macintosh - remote file access to network shares via WebDAV using Transmit (commercial software)

This document shows the proper settings for configuring the program Transmit to connect to campus shares

Transmit is an application for your personal Macintosh computer to connect to your campus files shares from off campus using the secure WebDAV technology.  While the campus does not directly support this product, we have provided the information below for configuring it for home use.

One you have downloaded and launched Transmit, you want to go to the WebDAV tab and enter your information in the fields:

Server:
  • fpsa.uwgb.edu is for faculty/staff home folders as well as department shares
  • fpsb.uwgb.edu for student home folders and course shares
Username: enter your full email address (username@uwgb.edu)

Password: enter your campus password

Initial Path:
  • M: / personal drive: Your username
  • Departmental / class shares:  Share name without the $
Select WebDAV with HTTPS

You can now click the blue + button to add to your favorites:

Give the share a name and click Save

You will now see your shares listed under the favorites tab.  You can either double click on the shares to open them within Transmit or click on the small drive icon to mount them on your Desktop like a traditional network share.
