Campus Email Setup on iOS (iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch)
This document will cover how to sync uwgb.edu email and calendars on your iOS device.
The mail app in IOS will work for mail but the calendaring does not always sync properly. For increased functionality and proper calendar synching we recommend that you use the Outlook app for Apple devices, this is a free download in the Apple app store. All you need to configure the Outlook app is your email address and password and the app will do the rest.
1.) Navigate to "Settings"
2.) Navigate back to "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" and select "Add Account". A screen prompting for type of account will appear. Select "Microsoft Exchange".
3.) Next enter all of your account information. For your e-mail address you need to type your full e-mail with the "@uwgb.edu" on the end. In the domain field enter "uwgb.edu" or leave blank, and your user name and password are just as you would type into a campus computer.
4.) When done, press "Next".
5.) The device should fill in a new "Server" field with "mail.uwgb.edu". All you need to do now is press "Next" again. However, in some cases it may just move to the next step with newer versions of iOS.
6.) After the device has contacted the server it will prompt for what services you would like turned on. NOTICE Commonly students should ONLY sync mail, and staff should sync everything EXCEPT contacts (unless the staff member uses their Outlook contact book). You can now press "Next" again to confirm.
7.) Now that your account is set up we will have to change the mail sync time. To do so open your account again.
8.) After opening your account settings select the mail sync time. By default it is one week in iOS 8.
9.) Change this to no limit. That way all your mail and appointments sync.
