Map a network drive in Windows 7
This document covers how to add (map) a network share to a campus Windows 7 computer.
1.) Navigate to "My Computer". While in "My Computer" select the "Map network drive" option.
2.) In the map network drive window select a letter to assign to the drive. Letters can only be used once in the Windows system therefore every drive must have its own. After a letter has been assigned type the path for the share you desire.
\\fpsa is the servername where most of the staff use shares
\\fpsb is the servername where student shares are housed.
Use the format \\server\sharename
3.) Click "Finish".
4.) If you have permission to the share it will open automatically. If not you will see the message about access denied, the owner of the share will need to be contacted.
