Map Network Share on Windows 7

This document covers how to map a network share/share drive on Windows 7.

1.) Navigate to Start > Computer

2.) In computer navigate to "Map network drive".

3.) In the folder area enter the desired file path, and assign the desired letter. For example: \\fpsa\compserv$

4.) After getting the right information filled in select the option of reconnecting at log on; this will make it connect every time you log in.

5.) After this the drive will appear in your list of mapped drives.

If you receive this error message, the file path is incorrect or you do not have access to the share:

If you are mapping your home directory (M drive), use the following paths:

Staff: \\fpsa\u\username   The letter is the first letter of your last name.

Student workers: \\fpsa\studentworkers$\username

Students: \\fpsb\u\username The letter is the first letter of your last name.
