This document covers how to map a network share/share drive on Windows 7 and Windows 10.

1. Click on the file explorer icon in your taskbar or hit Windows Key and the E key at the same time. Click on This PC on the left side task bar, then at the top of the window click on tab labeled Computer.

2.)  Click the Map network drive button in the ribbon menu at the top, then select "Map network drive."

3.) In the folder area enter the desired file path, and assign the desired letter. For example: \\fpsa\compserv$

4.) After getting the right information filled in select the option of reconnecting at log on; this will make it connect every time you log in.

5.) After this the drive will appear in your list of mapped drives.

If you receive this error message, the file path is incorrect or you do not have access to the share:

If you are mapping your home directory (M drive), use the following paths:

Staff: \\fpsa\u\username   The letter is the first letter of your last name.

Student workers: \\fpsa\studentworkers$\username

Students: \\fpsb\u\username The letter is the first letter of your last name.
