Uninstalling the Java Plug-In from Mac OS X 10.7 and Up

This document covers how to uninstall the Java Plug-In on a Macintosh running OS X 10.7 and higher.

1.) In Finder navigate to "Go" in the Menu bar and then "Go to Folder...". The keyboard shortcut of command + shift + "G" will also pull up the go to window.
Navigate to "Go".

2.) In the "Go to Folder..." type "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/" and click "Go".
Go to "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/"

3.) Finder will open the /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ folder, and in the folder select the "JavaAppletPlugin.plugin" file. Delete that file and then empty the trash.
Delete the JavaAppletPlugin.plugin file

4.) Reboot the Macintosh.

5.) The Java Plus-In is no longer on the Macintosh.
