Creating a Video in Kaltura CaptureSpace Lite
Navigate to media.uwgb.edu and login with your campus username and password.
This document describes how to create a video using the Kaltura CaptureSpace lite recorder
Select "Recording" from the "Add New" drop down menu next to your name
If this is your first time, Kaltura will prompt you to download the recorder application. Once you download this app, you will come back to this webpage every time you wish to launch the app and make a recording. But, you will not have to download it again. There are both Windows and Mac versions of the recorder.
Once you download the recorder, it should start on its own. If not, press the "refresh" button in your browser and you will be prompted to start the recorder (Note this is the Chrome browser, different internet browsers have different messages.)
Once the recorder launches, go to the "settings tab" and be sure to select the microphone and webcam that you would like to use. Press "Save".
Choose the type of recording you would like to do
Select whether you would like to record all of your screen or just some of it.
Press "record" and Kaltura will give a 5-second countdown to get ready
Do your recording and, when you are finished, press "done." (Also, the icon for the recorder will be in your toolbar at the bottom of the page. If you are doing a PowerPoint presentation, you may need to exit the presentation and press the Kaltura icon in order to see the control buttons for the recorder.)
You will now see a screen where you may check over your recording and trim off the ends if you desire. When you are satisfied, press "done" again.
Enter a title and any metadata you would like for your recording and press "upload."
The recording will be available for you shortly in your "My Media" account.
